Building Character, Mentally & Physically
At Friends, our physical education program is designed to focus and expand upon fundamental skill development, helping students succeed in both traditional and non-traditional athletics. We also teach our students how to develop a lifelong passion for health and wellness.
Along with teaching curriculum-structured material, students are encouraged to provide feedback into which activities they enjoy participating in. This fosters a strong sense of engagement and enjoyment in physical education.
It also goes without saying that teamwork and collaboration are vital principles taught to our students each and every day. This helps them understand that every individual harbors a unique set of abilities that can help contribute to the learning of the entire class.
Catch The Waves
With 22 sports programs and other recreational physical activities, athletics play a vital role in developing our students. At Friends, competitive athletics begin in the 6th grade and continue through Upper School, with an emphasis on fundamental school development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and collaboration. Whether competing on an athletic team or cheering on the sidelines - these programs help define the Friends community.
