Happy Friday, Friends!
Have you heard, or should I say, how have you not heard, the Blue Angels are in town! As you can imagine, with the school’s proximity to Oceana, we can actually wave to the Blue Angel pilots as they buzz the skies above Friends School. From all angles of the weather forecast, it looks to be a blue sky weekend, we hope you and your families enjoy it!
Looking to next week, there are two important areas to highlight, first on Tuesday, September 20th at 6:00 pm, VBFS is hosting a Quaker Education Night for parents interested in learning more about the Quaker religion and philosophy behind Friends School. See the zoom link below to join the event.

Also, next week, the school will host its Back-to-School Potluck Picnic on Thursday, September 22 from 5pm-7pm at Redwing Municipal Park & Playground at Shelter #1. We hope to see your family at our first community building event of the year! Details on what to contribute to the potluck can be found below and on the attached flyer.
This morning I finally felt a sense of fall in the air. The slight temperature change this morning has me excited and looking forward to the days and weeks to come at Friends. From Trunk-or-Treat and Boofest in October to our annual Holiday Bazaar in December, there is much more fun to come at Friends!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Mike
Head of School
