Grade 5 science is learning about plants. They started with the different structures and functions in the roots and stem. They reviewed the process of water traveling up the stem which is called adhesion (water sticking to celery) and cohesion (water sticking together). Then focused on the phloem and xylem functions and observed under the microscope. More learning about plants to come! 🌱

Today the Early K class took their field trip to the Virginia Zoo! With the wildlife out catching some rays, the students were able to get an up close and personal look! Overall, the field trip to the zoo was a fun-filled day and wonderful learning experience!

What a festive week we have had celebrating St. Pa

What a festive week we have had celebrating St. Patrick’s Day ☘️ It’s made the week after Spring Break and losing an hour from Daylight Savings a little more bearable! Students used their imaginations to design and build leprechaun traps, studied Irish traditions, made leprechaun sand, and wore a ton of green in order to stay on the safe side!

Spoiler Alert 🍀 No one caught the leprechaun!

Today was such a great day in Pre-k! The children made leprechaun traps and made leprechaun sand! They even made a “wish” just in case their traps are successful and actually catch the leprechaun 🍀
