Virginia Beach Friends School has had a long standing relationship with an organization called Spirit Rising. Spirit Rising is a non-profit organization that works to provide necessities and a food pantry for our local Virginia Mattaponi Tribe. Supporting Spirit Rising is one of VBFS’s major community outreach projects. Throughout the year VBFS holds a back to school drive, Thanksgiving food drive, and fulfills Christmas wish lists and Easter baskets for Spirit Rising.
As students prepare to head back to the classrooms, there are students who may be going into their first days with no supplies or backpacks. Please consider signing up to donate items to our Mattaponi children in need this year. We hope to send them off to school with as much normalcy and preparation as their peers. Help us make their first days at school a little easier!
There are two ways to support the back to school drive:
